Marco Antonio Moreno was appointed as the new managing director of Automotive Glass Europe® on 1st of August 2019, taking responsibility for leading and coordinating all of the worldwide activities of the alliance.
With more than 28 years’ experience in the automotive and architectural sectors, Marco Moreno has developed an in-depth and broad understanding of the automotive glass market.
Marco started out running his own automotive glass business before joining a major glass manufacturer, where he occupied key executive positions developing several automotive and domestic glass projects. Marco then took on a role of external business consultant prior to taking global responsibility for the operations of Automotive Glass Europe®.
Marco commented: “I am honoured to assume this responsibility and sincerely grateful for the opportunity given by Automotive Glass Europe® board members and partners. All of them have my total commitment to helping the alliance realise its full potential.
“I sincerely feel that with this new challenge I have closed a circle in my professional career, having an opportunity to apply my many years of experience to create added value for all Automotive Glass Europe® partners. This as an extremely privileged position, one that will allow me to support the continual improvement and development of the automotive glass industry.
“On behalf of the Automotive Glass Europe® family, I would like to express our gratitude to Pim de Ridder, who retired this year after 11 years at the helm of Automotive Glass Europe®. He has been instrumental in growing the alliance to what it is now, a network covering 22 countries in Europe, North-America and Southern-Africa.
